We match caring, adult mentors above the age of 16 to at-risk children in the community. Each match is supported by a Match Support Specialist to help guide the friendship and answer questions the Big may have. There are currently 4,000+ children on the North Texas waiting list. We have two basic programs: school-based mentoring and community-based mentoring. In a school-based match, the Big eats lunch, plays sports, or does a board game with his Little at the Little's school one time a week, for 30 minutes. In a community-based match, the Big picks up the Little and they go to community events, play sports, bake cookies, create crafts together, etc. 2- 4 times a month, a minumum of an hour each visit.
